He obtained his BS in Nanjing University. He finished his Ph.D. from State University of New York at Stony Brook. After that, he joined Rensselaer Polytechnic Institute as a postdoctoral research associate. He joined the School of Materials Science and Engineering of Nanyang Technological University as an assistant professor in early 2008 and became an associate Professor in 2013. His research efforts have been mainly devoted to two areas: i) advanced electrode materials for energy-storage devices; and ii) highefficiency thermoelectric semiconductors.<\/p>\n Hong Jin Fan\u00a0<\/strong>is currently an associate professor at Nanyang Technological University (NTU). He received his Ph.D. from the National University of Singapore in 2003, followed by postdoc at Max-Planck-Institute of Microstructure Physics, Germany, and University of Cambridge.
